چکیده
Pectin is a polysaccharide that has been recently gaining attention because it renewable, inexpensive, biocompatible, degradable, non-toxic, non-polluting, and mechanical integrity. The recent extraction techniques modification to the structural property of pectin have led modified whose chemical surface functional groups yield galacturonic acid galactose contents which are primarily responsible for its improved better use in biomedical applications including drug delivery thus producing high-value products. Major on focused aspect bioactive functionalities opposes cancer development. Nevertheless, can be combined with wide range biopolymers unique characteristics activities enhances application different areas. This enabled current through approaches addition prominent anti-cancer capabilities, were reviewed. Furthermore, this paper highlights potential as system substances, synergistic prebiotic effects, gut microbiota effect antiviral properties amongst other roles applicable pharmaceutical industries.

Pectin-Based Biodegradable Hydrogels with Potential Biomedical Applications as Drug Delivery Systems
In this work, synthesis and swelling behavior of a superabsorbent hydrogel based on Pectin (Pc) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) were investigated. A mechanism for hydrogel formation was proposed and the structure of the product was established using FTIR spectroscopy. The Pc-poly (sodium acrylate-co-acrylamide) hydrogel exhibited a pH-responsive swelling-deswelling behavior at pH’s 2 and 8. This on...

The (trans)esterification reaction of bacterial biopolymers with a selected bioactive compound with a hydroxyl group was applied as a convenient method for obtaining conjugates of such compound. Tyrosol, a naturally occurring phenolic compound, was selected as a model of a bioactive compound with a hydroxyl group. Selected biodegradable polyester and polyamide, poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydro...
